Type Approval is the decision of legal relevance, based on the review of the type evaluation report, that the type of a measuring instrument complies with the relevant statutory requirements and results in the issuance of the Type Approval certificate. It and must be requested by the respective manufacturer or importer.
How long is a Type Approval valid?
A Type Approval is valid for a maximum period of 10 years, after which a Type Approval Renewal is required.
During the period of validity of a Type Approval, a Complementary Type Approval applicable to situations of specific changes in the manufacture of the approved model may be requested.
