CE MARKING

The CE marking was created to guarantee national authorities and consumers that products comply with harmonised safety, health and environmental protection requirements.

Once affixed to products, it constitutes a declaration by the natural or legal person that the product complies with all applicable provisions and has been subject to the appropriate conformity assessment procedures.

Not all products must be CE marked. It is only compulsory for products covered by the new legislative framework.

Where applicable, notified bodies are responsible for assessing the conformity of products and, in the case of construction products, technical assessment bodies are responsible for issuing European technical assessments for construction
products not or only partially covered by a harmonised European standard.
